Is\u00a0composite decking\u00a0such a good idea? <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Many individuals consider\u00a0composite\u00a0decking material\u00a0as the best option, perfectly suited to the natural setting in which the patio fits. If they make such a choice, it is because they think that composite is a sustainable material and also respectful of the environment. Not quite. In reality, composite is a combination of different materials whose final mixture is not biodegradable. In addition, apart from wood fibers, the rest of the components come from non-renewable sources. This is the case of plastic polymers, dyes, glues and chemical adherents that are part of the well-guarded recipe of every composite board manufacturer. <\/span><\/p>\n

It is true that composite contains recycled plastic. But what is the purpose of adding recycled plastic to the recipe if the final product (the composite) becomes non-recyclable and eventually ends up in a landfill? <\/span><\/p>\n

Recyclable and biodegradable therefore do not go hand in hand with composite. In the long run, most users make this sad statement.\u00a0Composite is not the best choice when it comes to building a deck. It is possible to find materials that are equally durable but that are recyclable, renewable and biodegradable?<\/span><\/p>\n

Ip\u00e9 wood<\/a> is native to Brazil. One of its main features is that it is extremely dense and durable. In addition, it does not require treatment because it is naturally resistant to mildew and insects. It is even fire resistant with a degree of resistance comparable to that of cement.<\/span><\/p>\n
